About · The evolution

Old-school blog. New-school kitchen.

Toned 'n Tasty started in 2014 as Lindsay's kitchen-and-gym recipe blog: food that tastes like a treat and still fits the work you put in. The recipes were always the point. Now we're turning an old-school blog into tools you can actually cook with, and we're building them in the open.

01 · The recipes stay

Lindsay's originals are back

Every recipe from the original blog is back online in the classics, cleaned up and easier to cook from. Same food, same voice. They're the foundation everything else is built on.

02 · Blogs become tools

Stop scrolling. Start cooking.

This week's split plans seven days of meals and merges them into one grocery list. Your grocery list merges every recipe you add into one shopping trip. A recipe you can use beats a life story you scroll past.

03 · Tested with AI, openly

We experiment, you decide

We use AI and automation to test ideas faster: lightening up the classics, building weekly plans, matching recipes to the season and to what's already in your kitchen. A person reviews what goes out, nutrition stays a kitchen estimate, and an experiment only sticks if cooks like you actually use it.

04 · Food connections

From recipe to real kitchen

We connect recipes to the ingredients, tools and brands that make them easier to pull off. Some of those links earn us a commission at no cost to you, and we only point to things that fit the recipe. The details are in our disclosure.

The point of all this

Tastier and healthier is possible. We all have to do it together.

Cook something, then tell us what worked and what didn't. Reply to the weekly email, share a recipe, or tag us. Every tool on this site gets better because people use it and push back.

What we kept from 2014

The lime fork #37B34A. The iron grey #808080. The two-handed idea: kitchen and gym, same plate. TONED is condensed athletic type. TASTY is an italic serif. Green is food. Grey is work.

What “lighter” means here

Greek yogurt for sour cream. Air-fry or roast instead of a bath of oil. Beans and greens where a second starch used to live. Butter still shows up when it earns it.

What it is not

Not medical advice. Not a calorie religion. Nutrition on each card is a kitchen estimate for one serving. If you need a plan for a condition, ask a clinician, not a food blog.
